We are at the end of Mulberry Avenue, overlooking Portland Harbour and close to the entrance to Portland Castle (an English Heritage site) .
There is plenty of free parking onsite in The Mere Car Park. Enter the car park, find a space, bring your registration number to the sauna and input into our device to activate 3 free hours of parking.
Please bring a bottle of water to hydrate. There is a fresh water top up at the sauna.
Please bring 2 towels – one to sit on in the sauna and one to dry yourself afterwards should you choose to hose down or swim.
Please bring swimwear, it is advisable to be wearing this on arrival beneath your clothes.
Children under the age of 16 are not permitted in the sauna during Communal sessions.
Children between the ages of 6-16 are permitted during a Private session if accompanied by a parent or guardian on a 1:1 ratio.
Each parent or guardian must accept full responsibility for the individual child’s safety and conduct.
Full right of admission is reserved by our staff should a child not be properly supervised by a parent or guardian in line with health and safety.
We offer Family Saunas on request. These are generally 30 minutes to an hour and tend to be cooler saunas.

There is a hot water shower onsite at Black Barge. This is operated using a credit or debit card.
There are indoor changing areas available at Black Barge as part of the shower facilities.
For the purpose of cooling down between sauna sessions, we have cold water plunges, a freshwater hose and the sea is always available at your own risk once your session is over.
There is space to hang clothing and store kit in the dry whilst you experience The Island Sauna. This area is fairly small and it is advisable to travel light!
Whilst we provide facilities for storing belongings, The Island Sauna is not responsible for damage or loss of guests property.
